EXPLORING INNOVATIONS – A VISIT TO PUNJAB BIOTECHNOLOGY INCUBATOR, MOHALI

Students of B. Sc. (Honours) Nutrition and Dietetics embarked on an enlightening visit to Punjab Biotechnology Incubator (PBTI), Mohali.

During the visit, students gained valuable insights into proximate analysis, understanding the composition of food and its nutritional components - Proteins, carbohydrates, fat, moisture, ash content.

Dr. Simranpreet Kaur, Scientist at PBTI, explained kind of apparatus used for analysis and advancement of equipment with respect to check the adulteration and she also elucidated the significance of compliance with FSSAI, BIS, and NABL standards. This hands-on experience provided the students with practical knowledge, fostering a deeper understanding of the biotechnology industry’s regulatory framework and quality assurance measures.
