In celebration of World Tourism Day 2023, students pursuing their Bachelor's in Travel and Tourism Management from Chandigarh College of Hospitality embarked on a captivating expedition through the historical and cultural landmarks of Punjab. The enlightening journey took them to Jallianwala Bagh, Atari Wagah Border, Partition Museum, Golden Temple, and Durgiana Temple.

Jallianwala Bagh - Remembering a Tragic Past

The day began with a somber visit to Jallianwala Bagh, where students paid their respects to the martyrs of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. This poignant site serves as a constant reminder of India's struggle for independence.

Atari Wagah Border - Witnessing the Beating Retreat Ceremony

Next on their itinerary was the Atari Wagah Border, where students experienced the electrifying Beating Retreat Ceremony, marked by the synchronized flag-lowering ceremony performed by the border guards of India and Pakistan. The patriotic fervor and enthusiastic crowd left an indelible mark on the students.

Partition Museum - Chronicles of Partition

At the Partition Museum, the students delved into the history of the partition of India in 1947. This immersive museum showcases personal stories, artifacts, and exhibits that depict the emotional and historical aspects of this significant event.

Golden Temple - Spiritual Serenity

Amritsar's iconic Golden Temple offered a tranquil contrast to the day's earlier activities. The students marveled at the temple's stunning architecture, partook in the langar (community meal), and soaked in the spiritual ambiance that surrounds this sacred place.

Durgiana Temple - A Divine Experience

The Durgiana Temple, also known as the "Silver Temple," captivated the students with its intricate architecture and religious significance. They had the opportunity to witness the evening aarti (prayer) and explore the temple's surroundings.
