There is an immediate demand of 65 lakh persons in this  field  with attractive pay packages  and bright future, Tourism has   grown so much that this has become the second largest foreign exchange earning industry of India. There has been a record rise of 20% in the foreign tourists visiting this country., About 1.2 lakh star category hotel rooms have already come up and about 50000 more are likely to come up in the near future, Within next 5 to 10 years 280 lakh persons will be needed in this Industry, out of which 180 lakh  will be in the field of  Hotel management only, Students being sent to Taj for ODCs, CCH participated in Chandigarh Carnival,Jodhpur Taj visited CCH

Job Opportunities:

There are plenty of options available to the students of this course – front office executives, housekeepers, guest relations executives, chefs, restaurant managers in hotels, customer service executives, tour managers, ticketing and reservation executives in travel agencies.

Most hotels employ people with qualifications in hotel management. People with certificate course start at low levels, while those with a diploma or degree start as executive or management trainees.

AREAS OF STUDY:

Core subjects like Food Production Management, Food & Beverage Service Management and Accommodations Management are taken up for in depth study by the students. Besides these the peripheral subjects like Communications, Computer Applications, Hotel Engineering, language learning, Human Resource Management, Managerial Economics, Law, Facilities Management are also taught to develop the students as future managers in the field of Hospitality Management. 

B.Sc. Airlines, Tourism & Hospitality Management (B.Sc. - ATHM)

Eligibility Criteria: Candidate with 10+2 in any stream. 

Job Opportunities : 

The openings in Airlines field would be generated in the areas of Ticket and Reservation Managers, flight dispatchers, cabin crew, airline managers, airport managers and ground handling personnel. Various other avenues available are in the travel agency, tour operator, airline offices, BPOs working in the field of travel and tourist trade. Tourism Industry is one of today’s most dynamic fields. It demands innovative approaches, self-discipline and an ability to deal with every sort of person. Most important is the natural sense of joy at providing high quality service.

The course is vocationally orientated, very specific in its nature and therefore primarily aimed at people who already have clear ambitions of pursuing a career with airlines, airport operator, Tourism Corporations or travel & tour operations . In fact, working in either of these sectors of the Travel and Tourism industry is not just a job; it's a way of life! It's not enough just to be able to do the job - people have to be suited to the business environment and culture in which they work.

Graduates with bachelor’s degree in hotel management have a number of career options to choose from. There are a number of jobs in the service sector that can be taken up by the students, such as in the front office operations , food production department as chefs or in the administrative services of he hotel. Besides, the students are well equipped to venture into the independent business domains such as starting an outlet as a restaurant, hotel a confectionery or a bakery.

Students also have the option of venturing into the catering services in different areas such as institutional catering, flight catering, railway industry and even venture into the food manufacturing and packaging industry.
